It seems that the fresh water flush point is placed just below a fin that makes it difficult to attach a flush bracket and water hose. How should I should I flush the engine on clean up. It is used in salt water. 1989 40 hp Evinrude

I have a 1989 Evinrude that has just has a new water pump installed, and the carbs rebuilt. It runs like a champ on my Boston Whaler 13' (which is a new install). However on my last trip, to the boat dock the engine was running great and then lost power. It would start and run for a few...
