    Tachometer wiring

    I have 1987 johnson 175.Trying to hook up Teleflex Tach .Wiring color on tach are 1.purple 2.blue,3. gray,6. blk. Boat wiring colors are pink 12v ,blue lite , blk grd ,gray tach signal. What should reading be on gray wire with engine running? Thanks Jim

    1988 175 johnson no ldle & misfiring

    Have checked firing with tester all plugs firing.when cranked the engine will run for a little while but will pop like a cylinder is not firing. Jim 1988 J175STLCCM

    johnson 175 carb flooding

    Rebuilt carbs last summer, Motor ran fine until I started the motor to winterize. The engine flooded and would barely run. when I pump the primer bulb fuel come out the center carb.I removed the carb and checked the float adj. It was ok and there was no trash in fuel.needle and seat look fine...

    Don't know if it is flooding or and ignition problem.the primer bulb will not get firm when pumping. At first I thought the left bank was not firing. I switched the power packs which didn't seem to help.It is blowing alot of oil when running. The compression is good on all cylinders. I rebuilt...

    1987 150 Evinrude VRO V6

    Rough idle,compression 100 all cyl.Lot of smoke frm exhaust.All plugs wet after shut down.Oil injection disabled,running 50:1 mix.Havn't ran at wot yet.<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Jim :confused:
