1996 sea ray 250 horn location

thanks for the info, i got it switched, seems the machine screws have a threaded plate on the inside, easy to remove, had to have help installing it, as one person has to hold the bracket in place on the inside while another turns the screws into the bracket.

thanks that's where it is, looks like quite a chore to remove from inside, that outside cover bolts seem to just spin, does it have to be removed from the inside?

1996 sea ray 250 horn location

Hi again everyone, i recently bought a 1996 Sea Ray 250, i have an issue with the horn, it did work two times, now nothing, i've checked the breaker, and switch, i can't find that horn anywhere on the boat, when it did work, i thought the noise was coming from somewhere near the Helm, i removed...

    installing 12v to 120v inverter

thanks for your reply, by backfeed i mean that i connected the out put of the inverter to the nearest 120v plug, thinking it would energize all the a/c circuit. I have two marine batteries, the inverter would only be use on short time frames, like running a small appliance for a short period of time

    installing 12v to 120v inverter

Hi, all, i installed a 2000w 12v to 120v inverter on my 1996 Sea Ray 25ft sun dancer, there was plenty of room in the engine compartment and a 120v receptacle near by, I thought i could install the inverter and back feed the 120v receptacle to power the rest of the boat with 120v power. Seems...

    overheating problems on mercruiser 470

actually i did, when i changed the impeller and housing, and still had the problem, i removed it "again" to inspect it to make sure i didn't fry another one, that is when i back flushed the system from the small cooler/heat exchanger, until i had a good stream of water coming out of the copper...

    overheating problems on mercruiser 470

thanks for the info, when i attempted to take it off, i used a screw driver and a hammer to try to dislodge it, but it didn't budge, i didn't want to do anything else before i had a chance to talk with some one about it

1980 Sea Ray Sundancer Battery problem

thanks for the advise, but there is no way i have access to the inside bottom area of the transom, without pulling the engines, there is no room either side of either engine to gain access, the only way i can look around down there, is to take my camera and take pictures, or short videos just to...

1980 Sea Ray Sundancer Battery problem

I'm taking your advise and looking for possible problems with transom, when you said do test drills, just where would i do the drilling? with the two 470 engines, there is not much room to access the inside of the transom, would you drill from the outside and patch the holes with resin?

1980 Sea Ray Sundancer Battery problem

also, i measure the mystery voltage, at the solinoid, and at the distribution panel in the boat, as said earlier, i've disconnected the positive battery connections, unplugged the main connector on the engine, and the voltage is still there. I have all wiring, that i know of going threw the...

1980 Sea Ray Sundancer Battery problem

I switched because it was cheaper, a new regulator costs, about $600, and would still not be sure if the problem might be in the stator, a change out only cost about $200, and i trust a alternator more than the original set up. i have tried to check for amperage at the batterys, but according to...
