I have a 91 Mercruiser 4.3 alpha. I am looking for a manual online but I am not sure what they include. Do I need 1 for the motor and 1 for the drive? Is there a manual that has both? Where is the best place to buy them at. I have just been looking at Amazon.
So I am getting conflicting stories on how to trim my boat. Let me first start by saying that I had a 17 prop on my boat but it was hitting around 5600 RPM WOT trimmed all the way down. So i put a 19 on it and now it seems like a turd when taking off and seems to take a while to get up to speed...
I have funky steering on my boat. It has really tight spots in it and can get pretty hard to manuver and you really have to man handle it. I was thinking steering cables.
My boat will stall intermittantly and will be hard to start afterwards. Its pretty odd and usually happens in shallow water when idling. It will stall and then not start for 10 min or so. Usually if i let it sit then it will fire right up. I can shut it down 2 or 3 hours later and then fire it...
The ladder on my swim platform is loose and the screws are stripped out. The swim platform if fiberglass. Can I just use some bigger screws? What is the proper way to repair this?I also want to know the best way to mount the mounts for my bimini top to the gunwale which are fiberglass as well.

I just bought a 91 Thompson 21.5' with a Mercruiser 4.3 Alpha and I have a bad knocking noise. Its not from the engine but it almost sounds like a rod knocking. It went away as I trimmed the boat but then cam back. The boat runs great but that noise is awful. Any ideas?????
