Just had impeller changed by mech. When engine runs form about 20 min the flow from the telltale reduces then turns to steam. If I blow down tube then restart it flows agains but shortly after turns to steam. Pulled off side cover of water jacket and cleaned some salt/sand out.

Recently had boat mech change impekker on 7.5 Mercury. I don't know much about mechanics but illing to have a go. After about 20 min tell tale water stream weakens and turns to steam, if you then stop and blow down pipe and go again water starts to come out, but eventually turns to steam again...
Can anyone help please. I have a Mercury 7.5 and recently had the impeller replaced. It seems to pump water fine until it heats up, after about 20min it starts to blow steam with the water exhaust and its really hot. Eventually there is no water coming out only steam. Is this still an impeller...
