Garden hose to rinse the boat and trailer

Received the 1/2", 50' Flexzilla hose. The dry hose weighs about 6 lbs and is very flexible. The hose itself has quick disconnect connectors on both ends. Included are 1 female adapter, 2 male adapters, 1 adjustable nozzle and 1 vinyl carrying strap. Connected it to our pressure regulated...

2018 Triton TRX 20 Trailer Wiring Harness

You can buy a LED tail light kit that comes with long wires that have a connector to plug into your tow vehicle's trailer connector. I recently bought this Maxxhaul 70205 LED trailer tail light kit from Amazon for $26.99. Replaced the incadescent tail lights that came with my new EZloader...

Garden hose to rinse the boat and trailer

@dingbat: I have two of these. One is kept on the boat the other is our day to day hose. Does not retract using nozzle https://www.joeysgarden.com/products/heavy-duty-garden-hose-50-feet @Grub54891: I have the flex Zilla air hoses, they work wonderfully. I'm leaning to the water hose...

Garden hose to rinse the boat and trailer

Yes, a hose cart is something to consider. In fact, I saw one couple who had one, rinsing their boat at the ramp. Currently, I'm thinking of buying a Flexzilla, 1/2" ID, 50' garden hose because it appears to be a very flexible lightweight hose. Coiling a flexible 1/2" lightweight hose might...

Garden hose to rinse the boat and trailer

Live in Hawaii so the ocean is all around. So fortunately no invasive species issues here. The main reasons I want to rinse our boat at the launch ramp are: Rinsing the salt water off before it dries on the trip back home. Especially on the trailer. (I could also rinse the salt water off...

Garden hose to rinse the boat and trailer

Will forget about getting an expandable hose. And will get a 50' non-expandable hose. Thanks.

Garden hose to rinse the boat and trailer

I think you're right. I'll look for a lightweight regular 50' hose. I'm guessing that a 1/2" ID regular hose will be fine (50 feet).

Garden hose to rinse the boat and trailer

I need to buy a garden hose to rinse my boat and trailer at the launch ramp after a day's outing. My boat is just a 12 foot jon boat. Two Questions: 1. Have you found that a 25 foot hose is sufficient, or a little too short? 2. Anyone try the expandable 1/2" garden hose to rinse their boat...

"Christmas staff fund charge" on my marina bill?

We've been to two different restaurants recently that added a 15% tip to the bill automatically. One has to be careful to notice that because without knowing, I could have written a 15% tip on the tip line of the credit card bill and ended up giving them a 30% tip. In fact I wonder if that's...

Enough gas to get back to the ramp

    Ah, makes sense. Thanks!

Enough gas to get back to the ramp

Regarding outboard motors with a portable gas tank. How do you insure that you have enough gas to get back to the ramp? Make a mark halfway on the tank and keep an eye on the gas level? Bring another container of gas? Thanks.

    Removing caliper bolts

One way to get a close (if not exact) size of the hex key in the bolt head is to get a piece of plain paper. Position the paper on the bolt head. Now with the ball end of a small ball peen hammer, gently tap the outline of the hex key depression in the bolt head. This will cut the paper...

    Removing caliper bolts

Please note that there are metric and SAE Allen wrench sizes. Using the correct size Allen wrench is important to prevent rounding out the hex key in the bolt. There are Allen wrench sets that include both metric and SAE wrenches. You may need to buy a hex bit socket for more leverage.

Is something wrong with the jack on my trailer?

As a follow up, I'm going to crank the jack all the down and mark it. Then crank it all the way up. Measuring the distance, I'll divide by 2 and put a mark on the inner shaft at the halfway point. That should be a good starting point to find the sweet spot to lower the jack to have it caster...

Is something wrong with the jack on my trailer?

JimS123, YOU ARE CORRECT! I lowered my jack all the way down and then cranked it up about an inch. The roller acts like a caster in that configuration. Your analysis is spot on in that with the jack too high, the inner shaft cocks and therefore binds. With the jack down far enough, the inner...
