    I've also used the allen wrench trick when mounting hardware on a balsa core deck on my old sailboat, it works well.

    I had a pump housing rust out from the inside and dripped fluid into the bilge. I guess it had got water inside somehow.

    My 2001 gmc still has the original spare, never been on the ground. If I have a flat it's usually a nail or screw that creates a slow leak which i find , plug, pump up the tire and continue.

    looks like a 1/2 inch steel rod cut to length and clamped under a couple of u bolts. don't know what else to call it.

    That top bolt on the engine may be tough one.
