    496 overheating

    I don't know for sure, but since yours is only 3 years newer than mine I would assume it does. IIRC I heard it can be in several different places, but ours is on the top, middle, back side of the engine. Do you have a scanning tool ? Otherwise you may be shot gunning parts a long time.

    The water pressure switch on our boat has to be replaced every 3-5 years because it plugs up from the hard water in the lake we go to.

    Sounds like you need Bearing Buddies. The one with the rubber cap is for the style of axle that has a zerk fitting.

    I adjust the water so that a bit comes out the side of the muffs while the engine is running. No use wasting water since it is getting expensive in Arizona

    Yes EFI is better overall, but if something goes wrong when you are out on the water it is easier to limp home with a carb.

    For a boat that old your only good choice is a custom made cover made of Sunbrella. It will be more expensive than you imagine, but will be worth it.

    In the 1975 we had a radio and television class in high school. We spent a quarter studying all apects of Star Trek and a quarter studying Monty Python. Can't really remember what we studied the other two quarters.

    What is available in your area will determine what to use. I went looking for what was recommended on most sites, but here in Phoenix the best thing availabe was some kind of fir.
