Haven't given it tons of use yet but not expecting any issues. I reinstalled my splash well pretty solid along each side with rivets and the screws into the transom. My bottom edge which is fully supported by an L bracket which has though bolts through the transom and is part of my rebuilt knee...
Hey everyone.
I wanted to share some pics of my latest boat project, a permanent ladder off the stern that goes over the splashwell.
Going to feel safer with this in place vs the temporary ladder over the gunnels that we had been using. Definitely a homemade solution but should be solid for...
It seems like there will be no StarCraft of the year for 2025. Mods can close the thread.
Hopefully we will see some worthy StarCraft restorations in 2026 to compete for the prize again. I have seen some good boats making progress.
I also hope someone out there is inspired to get to work on...
Yea I would like to be able to pass on the StarCraft OTY honors but it didn't seem like we had lots of splashes to me either. There was also no 2023 winner.
If not I'll try again next year. Not does look like a few boats could be in line for a 2026 splash.
Not sure if that was an official...
It’s time to nominate 2025 Starcraft splashes for the 2025 Starmada Splash of the Year!
I'm a little behind on posting this year but needed to get this started so I can pass on the plaque. I am copying the official rules from last year.
Please use this thread to nominate members who have...
Getting ready for StarCraft season here. No more days like this anytime soon:
Batteries are wired back in to my SuperSport and I'm trying to head out for my first spring Striper trip on the Delaware River. Maybe this Saturday - watching the weather.
Didn't get many updates done this winter...
This is looking really nice and coming together quick. Keep it going this SS will be getting wet all summer!
I like the bench seat boats alot. Do you have any issues with reach to the stern cleats with the bench plus splashwell taking up space?
I recommend using the Old Timers Formula, then oil based primer and Rust-Oleum paint from a can. For me this came out much more durable than OTF and Spar.
I think a painted floor with some sand in the mix would be good and allow for easy touch ups if needed. Especially if you plan to snap...
I am thinking that I need some to have some decals made up for the huge StarCraft splashwell that says "iBoats.com Restoration Forum StarCtaft Splash of the Year 202X". I knew that all that surface area would be good for something in the long run lol.
Real question though am I the 2024 winner...
Thanks everyone for the congrats! Really appreciative of all of you and for iBoats for getting me through this project. It was totally a lot of work and my finish was pretty shoddy compared to some of the boats in the past but here we are.
Goal Achieved. STARCRAFT SPLASH OF THE YEAR!
