Thanks @Watermann ! I'm very happy to be nominated for StarCraft of the year for my 22' SuperSport rebuild. We have been itching all winter so far to get out on the water again!

Floor is looking good and so does the bilge pump install.

    Stock Windshield Height?

I found that the windshield and dash was too low on my SuperSport to stand and drive the boat comfortably, so I created a custom riser. It's your boat - build it how you need.

    1974 Starcraft 21’ Holiday

I made mounting plates from thin sheet aluminum that I mounted the bilge pump bases to. I then riveted the plates to the rear most rib. I attached the pic that shows these best.

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Thanks. It really has been awesome boating. The 22' really has been a good size for being out on the Delaware River, without being too big to handle as my first boat or on my own. I can't really imagine having less space. Speaking of ships, we also see lots of other cool stuff moving around...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Been awhile since I posted so here are some update pics. I couldn't be happier with the season I had with my 22' SuperSport, and the Merc 115 has been flawless for me in every way. Took her out by myself for the first time about a month ago and landed my first fish from the boat, a nice...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Photo Dump for the Starcraft boys here since the site is working again. Hydration Break had an excellent season with no serious issues to report. Looking to get another boat day or two in before the winter in PA sets in. Haven't been doing a lot of projects for incremental polishes on the boat...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Still not taking lots of pics but here are a few from the past two weeks on the water. Also from today a progress pic of the side cushions I am working on for the bow seating. White diamond vinyl is the same patterning as my blue side boards. Thinking they will turn out nice. Happy...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Another very successful boat trip on Wednesday. We covered a lot of miles starting in PA and going south on the Delaware River and then all the way across the C&D canal and a little further to the Bohemia River area and back. Three states in all will have to try to calculate the miles maybe need...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and the tips and advice along the way! It's a total Thanks to iBoats for giving me the inspiration to get here. Headed out next this Wednesday and will maybe remember to take my own pictures. I have to swap out my prop for a little higher pitch as I am...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Starcraft on the Water! The boat is ready to go for the summer with my new Mercury 115 command thrust on the back. I took her out on the Delaware River three times over the past two weekends and overall things are running great! Still going to keep working on boat projects as she doesn't...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Update pics to share. Electrical test passed for bow light, stern light, fish finder, and bilge pumps. Got a second battery and my one from three years ago seems to still be going thanks to my occasional trickle charger. Sanded up the original teak step pads with some teak oil. This teak on...

    1984 starcraft islander

Original floors were 1/2 thickness but most upgrade to 5/8 or 3/4 to eliminate any flex under your step. I used ACX plywood which was described as the next best exterior grade behind marine grade for about 40% of the price. My method for making template was to mark and measure the width of...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Hello, A few updates to share on my Supersport. Feel like I am getting close but still lots of work to do. This is definitely the year! First thing I'll show off these cannon rod holders that were a gift from my uncle. They mounted up really nice on the splashwell top. Going to troll up some...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

A few pics to share from a nice spring days work. Lots to do still but getting closer to a spring splash. First focus was the passenger dashboard, I had cut one before with holes for a glovebox and radio but due to my console mod it didn't fit anymore due to the gunnel cutout I have going on...

Riveting question about riveting decking to ribs. Same holes or new holes?

My technique for any old rivets has been aggressively drilling them out. If they get loose and the tails are hanging on then I use a set of vice grips to grab and pull on the tail. I have used up a bunch of harbor freight 3/16 and 1/4 drill bits drilling out old rivets and drilling the holes to...
