ok call the local boat store they couldnt help so i have a 1969 6hp evinrude fisherman im replacing the water pump and i guess they now use a smaller inpeller that fits in a metalhousing that fits in the housing itself my ? if in the service manual for this motor staring from the gear case going...

ok everyone has been very helpful thanks but i put in a new rewind spring and the parts for the water pump havent came in yet so i decided to look at the thermostat took out the three bolts pulled the cap off and this is what i see

ok i posted a little while ago about fixing up a 69 6hp fisherman.... now i have a chance to get a 72 6hp motor that i could use for a few parts that i need but i dont know how interchangeable the parts are... i would only need a few nuts and bolts that i seemes to miss placed plus a few other...
