I was checking the water pump and can't get the shift shaft back in correctly on my 1996 Evinrude two stroke.
If anyone has the height the shift shaft height, it would super helpful.

Thank you for the replies, yes I believe it is a standard Rotating Shaft Shift Linkage. Just one rod moves up and down, at least without going into the gears by the propeller.

Just spent a couple hours on this, dissembled and reassembled three times. Each time reverse disappears. If anyone has an idea or advise I would appreciate their help/expertise.
