Re: Trailer refinish nearly complete !!
LOL. Thanks, but I doubt I quite qualify for that. Now maybe if I had blasted it to bare metal and replaced all the hubs/bearings. It's far from perfect for sure, but does make the old one look like it should have been in a scrap pile.
Here's how those...
Re: Help finding these hubcaps please!!
Thanks for the help folks. Tried the suggested places, but no luck. Finally had a brainstorm (more like a light drizzle) and remembered the local marine shop had a couple scrap Mark Twains out back. I ran by and they were on their original trailers with a...
Well, I finally am putting the finishing touches on my old trailer this weekend. Due to some serious issues with a bunk shifting and the guide roller gouging a nice hole in the side of my boat; I couldn't think of a better time to refinish it from the ground up. Here's how looks now and...
Re: Help finding these hubcaps please!!
Here's a pic of the rim now with no cap. The inside flange dia. on the cap is 7 1/8.
I actually tried a full size 13" abs wheel cover today. Cut the hole for the hub and they still wouldn't fit right. Seems the tabs on the back are too deep to allow...
I'm desperately trying to find replacement hubcaps for my trailer wheels. My old ones have rusted terribly and one is missing all together. I've been searching google for days, but have had no luck.
My wheels are 13" with 4 lug hubs. The caps are 8.25" in dia.. I'm repainting the wheels and...
Re: Gas in oil ... pump replacement?
Update:
I got the replacement pump installed today. Looks like everything is working great. (knock on wood)
I refilled the oil after it sat empty overnight following the flush yesterday. After installing the pump and new dump line, I put in the new cap...
I'm finally getting my '74 Mercruiser 140 3.0L running well. Spent a lot of time tinkering and tuning, but still have this issue present. I have changed the oil now a few times, but when I pull the dipstick, it still looks a little diluted and smells like gas. The fuel pump is the old Carter...
Hi all. I'm trying to find a tool to test my engines RPMs acurately. I think my instrument panel tach is reading quite low. Now that I've spent so much time getting my boat running, I want to make sure I can track it's performance and keep it that way.
I bought a dwell meter that reads rpms...
Hi all. My brain is fried and i'm in need of your help! I've been reading posts and replies to posts and on and on. I think I've confused myself more than I helped. I'm not a dumb guy, but I feel totally brain dead about this issue right now.
I have a 1974 Mark Twain powered by a Mercruiser...
Well ... chit!@ Just missed one heck of a deal for a winter project for myself and my FIL. I had a call in to the seller probably 10 minutes after it was posted, but just now got a return call saying it was headed up the driveway now with a new owner.
Guess I need to stop searching CL in...
Hi all. Hope everyone is enjoying this holiday weekend! How great is it to celebrate our freedom?!?!
After searching and reading so many great purchasing and specific inspection lists, I was still at a loss for what I'm looking for. I guess my mother-in-law's paranoia is rubbing off, but my...
Not too many posts in this section, but I wanted to throw one in. I just picked up a 1974 162T this weekend and wanted to share. I'm not greatly familiar with the brand, but they seem to have a decent reputation.
I found this on through CL and couldn't pass up the deal. Forked over $850 for...
Hi all. Wondering if any of you have replaced your 19's rubber bumper trim. I'm looking at doing that on a '72 model and I'm not sure the best way to first remove the old stuff, then make sure the new goes in correctly and stays put?
Thanks in advance!
Hi all. Been a lurker for a while, but I'm picking up my new old boat tmrw and finally wanted to chime in with a question. I've learned a ton from reading hear already!
I'm getting a '72 AristoCraft 19 that's in pretty darn good shape. Just some cosmetics that I'll be tackling right away...
