I am looking at a used 90 hp four stroke for my boat but it is a 25" shaft and my boat has a 21" transom. Can I put on a manual jack plate to convert the transom to use the 25" shaft?
Also will this setup overly stress the transom?
I have a non working 1986 140hp VRO Johnson. I saw a used 1987 150hp Evinrude for sale w/out controls.
Are the controls for these two motors interchangable? If not are conversion kits available? If so what is the ball park cost? Is the work difficult?
