It just stopped firing. It was running fine but after I had be trolloing around with my electric trolling motor it would not start again. Funny thing is while I was trying to start it I was shocked at from a wire on on the ignition.... maybe the ignition is grounding into another wire? Any ideas...
I replaced the idle adjustment washers and still having idle problems. My question is with the idle screw removed should gas flow out when I pump the bulb, I am thinking maybe something is clogged up. The boat will not idle at all.
Motor runs good but will not idle. I have adjuted the throttle linkage and even the timing trying to get a good idle. When I crank it the idle is high but in about 4 seconds it idles down and goes dead. I can open the throttle quickly and shift it in gear and it runs fine then but when I let off...
I had a 25 hp Johnson that had water in the boot oil and ran it for years. My 40 hp Evinrude has some in the oil now. I bought the gasket kit but it looks hard to put in all those gaskets... is it a mistake to not fix it? Is there a gasket most likley to be the problem?
Any ideas? I have just got everything working and the motor is running great but is not charging. What all components make up the charging system? What else can I check? Thanks for all the previous help.
