    I have a 1988, Mercury, 35hp and I'm trying to figure out the choke linkage. There's a choke closure spring that has a loop on the end but I can't figure out where it goes? The other end bolts onto a stud for the choke plate. See photos. Thanks

    I have a 1988, Mercury 35hp that I just picked up. Looks like the choke plate covers the entire face of the carb. There's a spring on it of which one end is not hooked up. Can someone tell me where it goes?

    At the back of the ignition switch, I moved the blue and white wires to each other's terminal, thinking that could be a different position of contact when starting but the results were the same. I greatly appreciate your help
