Finally going to paint my Starcraft. The bottom paint is in decent shape(solid, not flaking)....aside from a few bare spots. Going to use aluminum etch primer for the bare spots.

I have a couple newer style coils that are for 1979-84 2-6cyl models (CDI 183-2366 and a #582106 OS5P). Can I use them on my 1978 Johnson 70hp? My motor has the older screw type power pack.
Can I simply retrofit ring terminals on them and connect them to my power pack?

I know 1979 was a changeover year...they changed from a 3-spline to a 4-spline shaft.
I've got a seller with a 90hp Johnson, but I have no idea if it'll fit.

Problem is that the ignition switch is bad(according to seller)...and motor has to be started by bypassing the solenoid. It then had to be turned off by using the choke to smother it.
