Do you think that being it is metal it might make it not possible to drop in from the top? I have a oil pump priming tool to get it aligned onto the oil pump so I done see (fingers crossed) that being an issue. And thanks for the help!!
I believe the oil pump intermediate shaft has a metal collar that is permanently attached like in the pic I attached... his is silver in color the pic is one I grabbed if the interwebs.
OK here is what happened... My buddy had remanufactured long blocks installed into his boat... The mechanic he had build them out forgot (he did not realize until later) to install the oil pump intermediate shaft in one of them and the engines where installed into the boat (43' welcraft) and it...
I think they might be out of business... I tried to email them a year ago when I was looking for one and never got a response... so I called and the mail box was full... so I tried to call several times and no bueno
I have 2 1990 crusader 454/350HP's and its time for spark plugs... What are the recommended/best ones to use? They have pertronix flamethrower distributors. Thanks for any help!!

1st thing that pops in my mind is U-Joints esp since knocking when turning hard left or right... but you will want to replace the gimbal bearing too its over due.
