Re: 1957 longstar?
For some reason I can't get the pics up but I have a 57 Malibu also. That was the only year they made that style. I got the paint stripped off of mine and then found a Feathercraft Hawk II so the malibu just sits. I will probably try and sell it come spring.
I've been reading that the Honda Flush mouth kit works as a replacement for the older tempo flushette kits. Has anyone else tried this and do you have any pictures of what it looks like mounted. Thanks...
Took my 40 hp evinrude out the other day and it would run and then quit on me as if it were running out of fuel. I have been running it without the tstat and seemed to have no problem during the summer with warm water. Can running it without the tstat in cold water cause this. I've just...
I just acquired this for a decent price and was wondering what you guys think. It came with the wiring harness but it is shot. Where can I get a replacement? Internal wiring will probably need to be replaced too. Haven't had a chance to look at everything real close. It was supposedly run...
Just wanted to see what the general consensus was on painting the inside of my aluminum boat. It is a 1957 Lonestar Malibu. Whatever it was painted with originally is flaking off. Do i really need to paint the inside of my aluminum boat or is it ok to just leave it bare. I plan on having it...

I've seen these advertised but would like to know what the height is. It say vertical height of 1 5/8" but it looks almost as tall as it is long which is close to 7". Just curious if anyone has bought one?
New to this as this is my first boat. Obviously I have to replace my transom as you can see from the picture. The width of the space it needs to fit is 1 3/8 inch. I have access to marine plywood and I have read about people using epoxy and fiberglass to seal two pieces together. How do I go...
I just bought an aluminum 1957 Lonestar Malibu and I am trying to get it registered. I know the didn't put BIN #'s on these, only a serial #, but does anyone know if titles were issued for these old boats when they were purchased? Thanks for your help.
So i have been going back and forth with a guy on this and finally brought it home yesterday. Going to need a lot of work but I think it is doable. Hull is in great shape with no dents or gouges. It is 14.5 feet long and is very classic looking. Here are some pics.
Hey Guys, I'm picking up a what I believe is a 1957 Lonestat Malibu tomorrow and was wondering if anyone could email me or post some pictures of the interiors of you boats so I can see the original seating configurations. All of the wood has rotted out and it is just bare aluminum. Here is what...
New to the forum. Getting ready to pick up an old aluminum runabout and wanted to know what some of the older 35-40hp motors to look for to restore the boat. Boat is from the 50's.
