After getting my shifting issue fixed I took my outboard out for a spin on the lake this weekend. The last time I had it out it was running out of fuel so I thought the fuel pump needed to be rebuilt. I put a new diaphragm kit in the fuel pump, cleaned and rebuilt the carb, new fuel filter...
I just picked up a 97 Force 15hp outboard and ended up having to replace the lower housing on the lower unit. I didnt think to check before I took it apart, but when reverse is selected should it lock into place on the lever, or is it something that needs pressure on it the whole time to stay...
