have stripped off old carpet and found the area in the rear, where motor was, looks darker, maybe where oil/gas may have spilled. Do I need to treat that with anything before I apply new adhesive and carpet? I use this old pontoon boat as a dock, have removed engine, etc. It is approx 20 years...
