i understand about the gear ratios but was wondering.
will the 3.8 bolt up in place of the chev 4 cyl 120 mercruizer?
besides the inline 6, what will bolt up?
just kind of brainstorming, i think.?:-|
how do i remove the cable so i can slide the bellows over it.
thru the exhaust port i see a s.s. rod with an arm at the top and at the end of the arm is a roller.
this sets in a raised section on top of a aluminum long rectangular piece and the shift cable runs into it.
the outward end of this...
69 22" stracraft islander w/120 mercruiser, dry is something like 1950 lb's.
loaded an additional 600 to 1000 lb's i guess.
would this prop work ok or not?
if not what would be a good general prop?
thanks.
serial # is 69-22429.
i bragged about it here before and said it was a 1970 but really don't know.
while i'm at it mercruiser 120 serial # is 2459880.
what impeller kit would i need?
have replaced all wood inside "oak ply cabin wall and door" and looking good.
i'm slow but project...
ok it's been a while and mr know it all here doesn't know it all.
i have mentioned my project here before "starcraft islander 22" and it's coming along fine but slow.
the islander's serial # is 69-22429 and the 120 mercruiser's is 2459880 and here are my questions.
what year is the...
must be some metallurgical type out there that can help.
pos or neg on doing this?
seems like it might actually relieve stresses and aid sealing around the rivits.
not course grain but medium to fine.
then again glass beading "rounded media" might shot peen the surface wouldn't it?
thanks.
folks lets stand up and be proud of our ahead of time boats.
they are green as anything out there and are at the top of the list.
they are made of recyclables and bio degradables.
the hulls are made of metal, wood and sand "glass".
yes there are petrol products related to our boats but nothing...
thanks fishermark.
mine seems fine right now but kinda like the little engine and was just wondering.
since it's a chevy inline six minus 2 cyl's are the idiosyncrasies the same?
things like rist pin slap and rocker wear on and on.
the rockers show no wear at all and that seems good.
what mod's...
brains racing and can't sleep, will pay for it.
question.
i have a starcraft islander that i'm restoring and will have a complete soft top enclosure for over nighting and cold weather running.
there will be a chieftain in the future, ok gab over.
since both are aluminum hulls why can't...
