Well its out and transom boards rough cut. Sealing the boards then ill garilla glue all 3 pices together and then cut to size and seal the hell out of it. Then paint:D:D Im thinking red top and inside and blue bottom.
She is stripped right now.
This is on the support in the rear the ear is broken and im wondering if this will lower my motor rating.
And this one is missing the rivet and bent.

Wondering what to use for my transom im thinking exterior grade plywood or ?? A coworker that was a service righter at a marina told me that they used to use some kind of poly or composit style wood (fake plastic stuff). On the up side I would only need to do this once but is it strong enough...
What makes this motor an 18? Is this a 15 that's carbed up or a 20 that's tuned down? I wouldn't mind getting more if I can anyone have any ideas?

I purchased a 77 kingfisher 16' rated for 55hp per the plate. It came with a 1971 Johnson 40hp that i converted to long shaft. It came with a "console" needs total rebuild. Framing and all. But its got a steering system that's got a nut on the end of a 12' cable. No idea if they are comparable...
What prop options (as in new props still available on a budget) are out there for my 40EL71G and what pitch options should I consider for a 16 foot kingfisher weighing in a around 700 lb with people in it.
So with my 77 kingfisher project I got a 71 40hp, and would love to use it but I am concerned about battery charging. I know that there is an alternator option but can't find one reasonable. Belts yes actual alternator no. So im putting the call out asking for advice on how to charge my battery...
