Hi everyone,
My Merc 01 Carbed 150 hp is at 2.1 MPG (4300lb boat). How much improvement would a Opti or a Verado make? My 01 outboard runs like new. Would hate to switch, with out a significant improvement in MPG's.

My 2001 150 hp leaks gear oil out the vent hole. It leaks out the hole adjacent to the oil screw fill hole. Freshly filled 25 hours ago. This occurs after running the engine on the garden hose, and in gear at low idle. Any suggestions on how to stop the gear oil from leaking out this vent hole...

I put 15 gals of 2 year old gas into my perfect running 1999 120 HP force. My motor quit working. it turns and has a spark but, absolutely does not catch. Kill switch is not a factor. Fuel filter looks clean.

Hi gents,<br />I replaced the internal gaskets,rubber and springs on my engine's fuel pump after 500 hrs and 6 years.<br />Bottom line the old stuff looked great. I could have postponed this for some time. But, better safe than sorry.
