Working on a carb from 1988 evinrude yachtwin 4hp that needs the 1.6 mm brass tube that run through the throat of the carb into the high speed nozzle. The center portion is missing. From what I read it only comes with the carb body. Does anyone have a cut a way of that carb that shows if there are any small holes in the center portion that point either front or rear of the carb. The enclosed photo is what I have . I've obtained 1.6 mm brass tube to make a new one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The high speed nozzle does not come with the small tube. It is part of the main body which is not available. Thanks for the response.

The motor hadn't been run for years so disassembled the carb, soaked it it carb cleaner, reinstalled. Started and ran great. Had it in a tank. Started 1st pull every time for 3 days. 4th day wouldn't start. Would stay fuel in carb would start immediately then die. So pulled carb again and this is what I found. May not be the problem but needs to be fixed anyway. Thanks for the response.

It appears to me that I have a lack of fuel to the engine. I have no manual and have searched the web for info on starting. This appears to be fuel shutoff and the choke. It appears to show you twist the knob to open and close but the shaft just turns with no stop position in both directions . I had not changed that position when it wouldn't start.

these are simple Obs ... to start the carb choke plate must be closed by a twist or pull knob to allow increase suction on the low speed section of the carb... upon starting the choke plate must be openned up otherwise the engine will flood . check utubes and link

I have always been around manual chokes. So the picture i sent is only for choking? And once it starts just push it in all the way ? Thanks for the response.

I would remove the welch plug from the top and see if it broke off and drive the piece out. Then see if your new one taps in. I don't believe the holes need to be orientated in a specific way.

One guy did it with a different engine than yours. Either way it's a money (time) loser.

I already have the top end piece removed all ready to install the replacement tube. I just need to know if there is supposed to be any small holes in the tube that goes thru the venturi ob the carb..or are there no small holes in that area. I'm 76,, I have more time than money and I like a challenge. Thanks

Your picture shows a PRIMER PUMP.-----Find out how to use it for starting the motor.
It shows the fuel off and on being rotated. Is that incorrect? Thanks, I understand the principle of the 3 positions off the knob now. Thank you.

If I'm understanding this correctly, you just need the same hole pattern from your old one.

I want to duplicate the original but I only have the end that goes up into the high speed nozzle. That portion has one small hole. I don't have the section that goes through the venturi of the carb to go by. If I were to guess I would say there are no small holes in that section. But I don't want to guess , I'd rather do it correct the first time.
