Are Yamaha fuel filters universal?

https://www.walmart.com/ip/GHmarine...0-225-250-HP-Outboard-65L-24563-00/3113971678 2000 200hp Saltwater series. SX200 port side engine filter.Lots of listings for these filters but all look identical.Anyone know if they are all the same? Charlie

If the Yamaha part number is not the same then the filter is not the same.

The 65L-24563-00-00 filter is used in a number of different Yamaha models.

Must know the correct part number for the model and serial number before ordering anything. The parts diagrams are available for free all over the internet.

That link lists the F150. I have worked on the 2011 and newer F150’s for the last 5 years and have yet to see that filter.

In a duplicate thread I qualified my response with none I have worked are salt water motors. The 2011 here is a TXR so once again I will repeat, part numbers must be checked against the serial number. It not enough to google “yamaha Fxxx fuel filter”.

Problem with checking by engine serial number is that many engine serials are not in the Yamaha USA database. Certainly motors not distributed by Yamaha USA are in there. Many older motors distributed by Yamaha USA are not even in the Yamaha USA data base.

I didn’t know that. The database is a little suspect anyway, either that or a local dealer has no clue how to look up parts. I tend to fare better if I walk in with the part numbers than I do giving them the serial number.

For most folks it will work out if they focus on the complete model identity and year of production. They can then use the Yamaha USA parts catalogs to get the correct part needed.

Of course a good man behind the parts counter can either do that for the user or confirm that the user made the correct choice.

Always a good idea to have a good relationship with a nearby dealer even though prices may be a tad higher than online prices.

Well said!! Thanks guys,I was just trying to save myself some time ordering it online since no local Yammy dealers near me. I saved the one from previous change so I can ck that # . BTW you can get OEM parts from Walmart.com so the sarcastic remark about getting it from Walmart is bs. Charlie

Correction: my bad experience with the parts counter happened at the Honda dealer. I let him verify my part numbers then he sold me the wrong filters. He blamed it on Honda’s parts system.
Yamaha hasn’t been a problem.
