maybe a few more details on what boat and what you are looking to do?

Most common swap is a 4.3 V6 if you are looking for more power. Or are you looking to swap one 3.0 with another?

With any engine swap like say you want your 3.0 powered boat to have more power and want to swap in a 4.3 - easiest way is to find a donor boat (rotten stringers or wrecked) and take the entire powertrain out of it

I will second the what engine are you thinking

Anyone ever substitute a 3.0 engine with another engine,

swapping from a 3.0 to a 4.3 or 5.0 or 5.7 can be done. however needs to have a bunch of other parts swapped as well.

heading to a junk yard to buy any run-of-the-mill motor wont work. it has to be a marinized motor.
