2012 F150 3.5 EB turbo(2) oil change, low miles on oil

Maybe 1000 miles on Mobile 1 5/30 full synthetic and Mobile 1 filter, color looks fine, don't drive it that much, maybe 1200 miles on oil, seems silly to change? 10400K miles on it, it's perfect , oil never low, no leaks, I start it up every/drive week for 15 mins - thoughts? Oil has been in it for 2-3 years , Thx guys
Oh, I live in central TX so we get ALL weather, sometimes in a week ;)

That said
The motor needs to get up to full operating temp long enough to burn the moisture off. If this is done than IMO just run it until manufacture recommends changing oil

The oil needs to get up to operating temp and hold there for twice that time to burn the moisture off.. anything less is short trip/ severe service interval which in your case is every 12 months. Oil can become acidic with the extra moisture.

I know all about the oil threads guys, I’m just saying I’ll make sure it gets hot for 15 minutes a week at least

Or I’ll just take it out for a 90 mile an hour cruise for 30 minutes every Sunday like I did today hey, I live in Texas God’s country

Just turned 60k on a 2015 3.5 Ecoboost.

Dealer serviced. Factory oil (5-30 synthetic blend) and filters every 5k miles.

New plugs @ 40k and new pads and rotors @ 60k miles

FWIW: Ford starters and “salt life” are not compatible…..on starter # 3

Why new plugs at 40 K ? My Jeep has 118,000 and just now thinking about plugs. Runs perfect so not sure. Curious is all......

Oil never goes bad, it is the additives that go into the oil that begin to breakdown after numerous heating and cooling cycles. I would not hesitate going 2 years, Mabry 3 if your a gambler....oil is cheap compared to an engine issue.

The 3.5 Ecoboost is a twin turbo, direct injection (GDI) motor.

Turbo motors are notorious for running hot due to the design. They make lots and lots of power but are very hard on oil, ignition and cooling systems.

Took it down to the beach fishing last week. Starting to get an ever so slight “tick” at cold idle again. Will install new plugs before winter, if not earlier
