Is there a video out there showing how to fish the cable through the transom assemblies?

Maybe, but easiest is attach a string to the cable before it's pulled out and than use string to pull it back in

Thanks, trying to access transom assembly inside is difficult at best. What is the best clamp for shift bellows. Manual shows metal clamps which might work in fresh water, but here in Florida it would probably rust through in one season. One person suggested nylon ratchet clamps. If you agree, what size do I need to order? Another said zip ties with SS inserts( not plastic).

Your trying to split a hair but I'll bite
Get the boots and clamp from Merc/VP and you will get a quality clamp. Buy one from Sierra or other and it can be a crap shoot

OEM shift bellows will come with a ss crimp on band clamp for the shift cable end, SS hose clamp for transom housing end like shown in this listing. Lots of folks use good quality zip tie for the shift cable end (myself included)

As mentioned take the end off the shift cable in side engine compartment, instead of string I slide a weed wacker wire down the cable outer sleeve, then remove the out sleeve, slide new one over weed wacker wire. Pay attention to how it goes around wye pipe and flywheel cover area.

All this is laid out well in the factory service manual , highly recommend it. As AD mentioned this is a good place for OEM parts, my OEM bellows lasted 18 years without leaking (driveshaft and Shift, exhaust was torn)
