Crownline battery discharging on 2 Crownlines

Crownline, on two Crownline boats, my batteries discharge after sitting for a couple months. Battery switches off. I am in the process of trouble shooting with a current meter but I was wondering if anyone has run across this before.

How old are the batteries? Were they fully charged before sitting for a couple of months.

The radio 'keep alive' will draw some current. Also if the bilge pump is going on occasionally, it will tend to drain a battery. See what your current draw is with everything turned off (main battery switch off, etc).

Folks generally either remove the battery for winter layup, or use a trickle charger to keep then 'alive'.

Any electronics connected? As indicated prior, the radio electronics will draw enough to kill batteries in about 4-6 weeks

At a room temperature of 20°C (68°F), the self-discharge is roughly 3% per month and the battery can theoretically be stored of 12 months without recharge.

With a warm temperature of 30°C (86°F), the self-discharge increases and a recharge will be needed after 6 months.

I keep my rooms at 76 degrees..... cant afford to go any colder
at 80 degrees its 4%, at 90% is closer to 6%.

Yes. Per month, not per week as noted above.

My batteries get charged when I put it to bed in December. No problem starting the engine in mid March.

Gets a tad cooler than 80 here in the winter

Averages 43/25 in January.
