So I just bought another boat project. I've been lurking on this forum for awhile , and I finally have a question that I can find any answers too!
So


What I know:
It's a 1987 fiberglass boat made by citation boats inc.
It's 17' long
Open bow
The inside of the boat has a fiberglass liner
Split windshield
Hull iD #fsjsr039a787
It has a 50hp merc outboard 3 cyl #0B206468


So my question are , what is this boat ?
It doesn't have a coastguard plate anymore anywhere on it, so I don't know the max hp, max people and gear ratings . I would love to have this info on hand

I've looked through these I have a couple questions .

Is citaions boats inc the same company as citation by sea

I have it narrowed down to it being called either the center console 17' which says it can hold a 90hp. But it's a split window 17 in another category doesn't have any information listed for hp and weight capacity.

I thought law required a HIN after 196x or 197x. Anyway, these are not always on a plate, but mught be imbedded in the fiberglass. HIN can be embedded on the upper-right on the rear of the boat.

The HIN is in the OP's 1st post. And HIN's started in 1972.

Citation Boats Inc, based in South Carolina. The iboats reference to Citation by the Sea was the only 1987 boats listed under any of our Citation listings.

The OP had the HIN, required post Nov 1972, but it doesnt decode to provode a model.

If its a bow rider, split console or split windshield, use that modelxs name/number and search for a 1987 Citation Model: 1700XJS (or whatever model matches your boat). That should give you at least 1 listing that provides Max wt/pass capacity and etc
