Hi, welcome to iboats.

Are you trying to wire in a new kill switch?

Need to know where to connect the wires?

It *should* be on the faceplate where the fuel line attaches. If it is not there, then chances are it has been 'modified'. You can see parts diagrams on the marine engine . com site

Actually have the same exact motor (year and all) as a kicker on my tracker Pro V... I'll try and get a picture of the setup this afternoon once the temp's go above freezing-my-bearings off! lol

There is only one wire on the kill switch it has the phasemaker ignition. Kind of a backwards set-up It actually works by stopping the ignition from going to ground which causes problems when you kill it on the muffs. Leave it off and use the choke to kill it or try to get the idle down low enough so it dies.

Not sure if this was a conversion year but my 110 has the thunderbolt ignition.... 99% sure it's a '72 but there's a chance it could be a '73....

Thunderbolt was a general name for the mercurys ignition system that covered many years and styles. The phasemaker is a thunderbolt ignition that I believe is on the 7.5/9.8 blocks from 1968-1972. You need to be careful with that ignition because the stators are expensive and easily damaged. What color stripe is on the motor blue should be a CDI ignition red is the phasemaker. Easy to tell when you are looking at the front of the motor with the wrap off look at the left side of the motor if you have a switchbox/cdi there 73 or newer. I have a free 1971 20 hp that lost spark because the guy kept hitting the kill switch on the muffs now it needs a new stator

Ahh, ya learn something new every day! Thanks for that information, I always assumed the Thunderbolt was it's own component not a general term for multiple.... As far as my 110 goes, it's a blue stripe so that would be CDI I guess?

if its a CDI, connect a momentary switch between the isolated terminal under the flywheel (accessed from the side near the starter boss) and ground.

Probably a cdi look on the side of the like i said or put the serial # up to make sure because the wraps can be changed easily.

The CDI box is the ignition pack should have wires from under the flywheel going to it and green wires to the coils coming out of it.
