Nice videos, especially the cucumber peeler! Can't quite see the position of the throttle, but it almost looks like you are using the fast idle function when trying to start the engine? If so, don't.

wild guess on my part, there is a small fuse box on the back of the motor. it only holds 4 fuses. i had this issue once and that fixed my problem.

The yellow fuses right by the ECU? Checked all those and they're brand new :-/

I tried that out of desperation, but similar behavior was happening before I started doing that. I tried cranking this morning and didn't do that, same thing happened.

OK, lets start by looking for water or other crud in the fuel. Even though you're not getting a "water in fuel alarm", I'd remove and inspect the filter on the Vapour separator, and drain the secondary side of the VST.

I hooked it to an external fuel tank, with fresh fuel to eliminate fuel issues as well. Sorry-- I should have put that in my original post.

That's good, but it won't eliminate water that's already in the VST.

The opti has to make 1 1/2 turns of the fly wheel so the cps can find # 1 cyl, make sure the battery connections are clean and tight. if they are your starter my need a rebuild.
