Ok Capn's. I have been reading this site for about a month now getting ready to start my boat restoration project and must say I really enjoy the insight everyone has provided. For once, I'm not going to start out with any questions for you though. I'm just going to tell you what I got, and let you follow along with me as I try to do my first restore. If you guys happen to see me messing up, let me know.

OK. I bought a 18 foot 88 bayliner capri open bow about 3 years ago. Came with an escort trailer, 85 Force engine, and some extras for a $1000.00. I got one good summer use out of it before I came down on orders to go to Korea. Right before I parked it I noticed the infamous "little" soft spot by the ski storage area. Well, two years in Korea, and I return to find that "little" spot is now the whole back end. So I figure while I'm redoing it, I might as well make it mine and redo it my way.

Here's couple of Images of what I'm starting with.

Hello tocarry,
Welcome to Iboats.
Looks like your in for a fun time too. Most of us have been in this same place as you. It only takes time and money.
This is what I started with. Does it look familiar.

I'm not sure why you pic's don't show but I did paste one of yours on this post and I could see it but it was too large so I deleted it. You should resize them to 640X480, which is the standard size.
Use the search function to find out how to post pic's.
Good luck and welcome.

Welcome to iboats!

Yes, you have a typical case of rot. :( However..... here in this restoration area people have been down that exact road before.

Here is the link on the How To about posting pictures and we like to see them at 640 x 480 so we don't overload the server ;) http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=285637

Here are your pictures. Just put your mouse on the picture, and 4 different links pop up on the bottom of the pic..click and copy the bottom link and paiste it here. But first actually click on the picture..when it pops up, at the top there will be a header you can click on to resize the picture down to 640x480.
