I have been working on this boat for a few months now, and I would really love to know the exact year. It seems to be the first question out of eveyones mouth when asking about it. I am under the impression it's a 66 to 68, atleast thats what the last owner told me. I do know its an Orlando Clipper, thats about it. The boat is an 18' cuddy cabin built from fiberglass. I think the Orlando Clipper company started there fiberglass line in the 60's. If anyone could give me anymore information about this boat, other then what is on Iboats I would appreciate it. Also. I live in Orlando FL, this is one of the big reasons I am so excited to restore this Local Classic.

Re: Anyone Know the Year of this Orlando Clipper???

Its pretty hard to determine specific year just by looking at any boat. Here is a 1969 that the owner thinks is a 1968. Its a 21' .......

here's a clip of the rebuild:

Also, there should be an info plate on the B-pillar and around the stern.
Enjoy fixing her up.

Oh yeah, the owner of this boat, "spookeay" .... is a member here on iboats.

Re: "Orlando Clipper" Rebuild

Thanks for the replys, I know its hard for anyone to give the year of such an old boat. I know it was a shot in the dark, I would look for the year on the title if there was an original one. This old boat has been passed around the orlando area for some time. It was rescued by my dad and I about 10 years ago as a project boat. We fixed it up enough, and got about 5 years of use out of it. Then, it was sat on the side of the yard, and rotted out again. I have completly striped the boat of all its old wood, and soon will start the rebuild process. I have seen a few really great post on Iboats showing the steps of rebuilds. I will do my best to keep posting pics and keep everyone updated on my progress.

Re: "Orlando Clipper" Rebuild

FINALLY !! ive been looking for information on my boat..and i find you guys..i have a 1966 18" orlando clipper in very good shape..white and tan..our hulls are identical..i really am amazed at this design..drafts very little water..floats like a bobber..lol..but what really gets me is the built in water channels that direct any water that lands on the front half of the boat down the sides of the hull..then dumps it out the stern..from what i see,the only diference it that i have split slideing glass windows in all 4 window bays.hope this helps ya buddy...kyle burleson

Kyle, Thank you so much for your reply. I have been searching for anyone with this boat for years. I cant believe you have the same hull "Amazing". Could you please send me some pics I would love to see one in great shape. I have a few questions for you. First, where is your gas tank located? Second, did you do any stringer or transome work? I am going to do a complete rebuild of mine. As of right now its in the condition you see in the photos. My goal is to move the stringers around and put the gas tank in the floor. Also, this boat does still have the original 2 piece glass sliding windows. Over the years some of the glass has broken, so it was replaced with plexyglass. The boat is completly striped right now so the pictures do not show this. As of a week ago, I found the title and found the boat is a 1966 also. Thanks again!!
