You can cut, scrape, etc. to get the old stuff out but there is no solution that I know of that will disolve it. Gasoline and a match might do it rather quickly though.

You can not. Whatever will disolve the foam will attack everything. It has to be chipped out by hand.

have you tried using Gumout? I don't know if it will work or not as I have never tried it.

Don't know about desolving it, I used a sawzall to cut snapped out the big peices with a wonder bar and scraped. The remainder I got rid of with a flapper wheel

yep you need to do it by hand by the scraping, chipping and cutting method...

if you have a dull blade on a electric chainsaw? that cuts it like butter!

I never tried it but I hear a pressure washer will help cut through the foam.
