Re: Deck Paint

I must have missed those posts.

The epoxy products like those wouldn't be a good choice for a boat because epoxy doesn't do well in direct sunlight. Lots of threads reporting good results with other products though. Do a search on "deck paint", it should bring up a bunch of stuff.

Re: Deck Paint

the search of "deck paint" brings up alot of stuff but, here are my questions...

Everry post says prep is the most important part, so should i sand everything with 80 grit???
Floors walls console everything?
Also, so i take the epoxy back ... if money was not a matter wat would you use? Can I spray 1 time poly or not? Also, I have search one roll and tip is this good fr floors too, and is there a how t on this anywhere?

Thanks for your help!!

Re: Deck Paint

I just painted my glass deck with Interdeck by Interlux.
1 qt did a 20' center console deck, excellent paint, its like brushing on sour cream but it keeps spreading and spreading, has tons of pigment.
Didn't need any thinner.

For the other surfaces I went with Interlux Brightside, same high quality.
Probably needs thinner if you want to spray it.

Follow directions on the can, yeh you will have to break the glaze on any surface and some may need priming. They sell it in 1 pint tins if you want to try testing first.

Hello Kris..

First off..what kinda boat do you have ...

Depending on the boat..

You say " if money was not a matter wat would you use"

Awlgrip. or Sterling LP .. period ..

80G paper ?? .. thats for gel.. not for primer ( if you want paint ) should be 120-150. .. then reprep your primer to 400g for spray paint.

If $ was no prob..then LP it with AWLGRIP or STERLING .. its the Best ..

Re: Deck Paint

My reading about awlgrip is it takes skill, my experience with interlux is it looks great even applied with throwaway brushes.
