It sure is giving the AC a run for it's money!
And the paint trying to dry in my basement sure isn't enjoying the humidity!

Re: A few degrees closer to hell

I am sure the same as it has over the last 6000 year warming trend . . .

Anybody see the Discovery Channel, Tom Brokaw special on Global Warming last night? Anybody notice the complete absence of any opposing opinions? Rebuttal to anything? Anybody hear the quote that "99.9% of scientists believe that Global Warming is caused by human activity". Anybody else believe that is a blatant lie?

BTW, it is flippin' hot here. Kinda humid too. We usually don't see this until late August/Sept. Maybe a butterfly flapped it's wings in China a little earlier than last year . . .

Re: A few degrees closer to hell

I spent the week-end in a tire-plant, on a machine that liquifies solid rubber to a temperature of 100* C, to extrude a tread pattern for 18 Wheeler tyres, mostly for the American market. We're thankful for the U.S market.
They shut the A/C off for the week-end, 'cus there are no staff there, to keep comfortable...I'll take this outside heat over anything Michelin gives us. (The A/C never gets to the Peons anyway)

Did we go back into a cooling cycle after the dust bowl days or was that just a 30 year weather pattern :/

What heat wave? It's only 106* and calm here. Normal Hideout July weather.

It really does help to be retired so one can choose to stay indoors with an overengineered (on purpose) central environmental control system and do what retired gents should do: very little, and slowly.

Re: A few degrees closer to hell

We've had two A/C's going for a week now, during the days...nights are not too bad. We realise its just a hot spell, and cannot comprehend the drought that is affecting you, JB. We have a Spring that is still pushing up through the driveway. Apparently, a bad place to have a drive way...Muck, most of the year round.
Doesn't make up for the heat and humidity though...

Re: A few degrees closer to hell

Yeah it is hot, and it was hot last year. I remember it was hot a few other years as well.

Yep, watched the Discovery Channels Global Warming. The eliptical pattern that the earth goes into that effects our weather, how does the human factor change the orbit. Please explain that one?

Selective hearing and selective retaining of what is read wil always come out in ones favor.

To hell with the scientist, no such thing as global warming and humans have no effect on the planet, such rubish should be illegal.

Re: A few degrees closer to hell

It's 97 here, hot and humid too.

HOWEVER, I just had solar screens installed today and its made a huge difference in the amount of heat coming from the windows.8)

I'll let you know how much of a savings we make on the electric bill in a month.

Nice and cool now that im inside and partaking in my budlight.its been hotter and its been cooler, its been dryer and its been wetter. And as far as global warming goes who are they going to blame it on when it starts cooling.Like i said before i think mankind thinks to highly of its self, the planet is going to do its cycle no matter what we do.Its going to fix itself and regulate its own temps..JMO

We all know that, but try to explain it to Mr. Brokaw or anyone else trying to sell a T.V. show or a newspaper.
