Hi! The plan was to start this in the winter but it's only clamped together right now. My plans are to add a casting deck with Ducan dek-master Waterproof Vinyl Decking System, three pedestal seats storage and a livewell. I'm going to cut out the middle seat at leave the sides for battery storage along with a continuous floor through.

I will update as I do more.

Re: 14' NADEN Fisherman Modification

Nice looking bow section...would love to see the rest:)

Did you seal that plywood with resin? It going to get wet and looks like you've done a good job so I'd hate to see it rot early.

If you can you should resize your photos using photobucket or flickr or other hosting sites. The mods may delete your pics they don't like HUGE ones:D

Post some more pics(smaller) and let us know if you have questions. I'm working on my 12' tin can(link below) and I've gotten some great help on this site. If you need ideas for decking I made removable sections and stained and sealed them...pretty nice I think.

Welcome to iboats:cool:

Oops on the photo size. Fixed. Yes Huron Angler I'm subscribed to your thread. :D Very impressed.

Everything is dry fitted right now and yes everything wood will be coated with resin. Will get more photos of the rest later. Thanks

Re: 14' NADEN Fisherman Modification

Well it looks like I'm starting my winter project early because the weather feels like winter.

Boat was repainted earlier this summer.

In the process of sanding for repainting the interior and removal of seats. Front one will be part of the casting deck.
Second one will be cut so a walk through can be constructed and 3rd one will stay as is with a pedal seat. Foam will be replaced where possible.

Update:
Pieces dry fitted in. Once I receive my 8 gauge wire for a future front trolling motor. Waiting for my SS screws and hinges then the deck gets screwed down.

I have yet to figure out where my pedestal seats will go.

Thanks. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Well I guess I did. When it's done, it will be tough to have to wait for spring to see how she fishes.

I'm thinking about doing something similar with my middle bench seat in my Lund s-14. How did you cut the bench? Grinder, shears?

That is a quality job too.

I had to take a second look and remember that it was originally a full bench..

The multiple rows of three benches (or trip hazards as I call them) is the one thing that keeps me from buying a small by myself boat..

Your idea opens possibilities...

With full gear on I used a skill saw with carbide tip blade. With the pieces I had left, I took them to my local plumbing shop and they cut and bent the pieces to make my ends. I left a couple inches at the bottom to attach my angle aluminum for the floor. I'll get a photo of it in a couple of days.

Re: 14' NADEN Fisherman Modification

Finally updating this thread.

Now this is where I fall apart on the photos documenting the rest of the build. I was given an old metal cooler that I made into a live well with pump and a drain. Found many opportunities for storage possibilities. Ahead and behind the live well, as well as in the middle bench that I cut for a walk through for battery storage and electronics. I also needed to find a place for the gas tank. The floor is framed with the 1 ? aluminum angle that was attached to each side of the bench?s with extra support for the pedestal seats. The bases are bolted to the aluminum along with 5/8 plywood below the deck. I just cut the pieces in a circle. So all in all I have the bases attached to the plywood deck, attached to the aluminum angle the followed by the circle piece of 5/8 plywood. I had wanted those seats solid without wobble. Worked great.

To cut the middle bench I loaded up with protective gear, a skill saw with carbide tips and a felt marker. Marked where I wanted to cut and went to it. It?s loud and violent but made some nice cuts. I did not cut all the way to the bottom of the boat as I need some solid material to attach my angle to for the deck. I took the cut pieces to a local plumbing shop and they bent the aluminum to wrap around the ends.

All decking was predrilled and attached to the aluminum frame with stainless steel screws. Stainless hinges for the storage and live well lids.
Enjoy some photos of the finished product.

Maybe next year I will add some decking to the rear. I ran out of vinyl and I also like to sit on the bench straddled when I captain the boat to the next fishing spot.

Added a couple spots for two batteries in case I decide to add a bow mounted trolling motor.

So I have some minor fixes yet to do. I want to find a convenient place to mount the fish finder. Add some storage for the tackle. We just had a dump of snow here so it looks like I won't find out how she fishes until May.

Great work, I'm very impressed with the final product:)

Does the livewell use gravity to drain or did you install a drain pump?

Thanks! Gravity will do the work for me. My brother-in-law has the same set up and he's happy with it.
