My stringers were awesome. So I used pvc deck boards as my floor. had to glass in plywood on edges to have a way of fastening the ends. i used azek deck boards. And cortex hidden fasteners all stainless steel rebuilt the carbs on the motor installed all new controls and redid the wiring
I lightened the boat by approximately 300 lbs
the last pic is the upholstery work.
and yes that is an 83 115 hp 2 stroke tower of power.
it is the early version before they stopped rating at the crank.
I got 125 compression on all cylinders and she is idling on her own. Did a fuel tank pressure test and she held 10 psi for 48hrs. installed a new sending unit . Installed a new drain plug, bilge pump. The original lights still worked believe it or not. No moisture in the transom. Tell me what you think.

You are right Reds. Nothing sticks to it. Also they are not structural other than purty and easy to use in other applications.

Well if it sinks I'll let you know but regarding the structures integrity the way this is built with my construction background and my buddy's engineering degree. This should technically work

How you gonna tie the decking into the hull?
Just curious..
and I guess water will just run through the cracks?
not concerned about vibration or flex?

So with the stringers and bulkheads in your current layout water will pass through the decking and collect without drainage I assume?
I don’t get it.... just dooooon’t get it

It will pass through to my bilge I've done a test already. I'm simply replacing the old plywood floor with deck boards. the floor is solid.
everyone thinks an innovator is crazy and what he is doing doesnt make sense till they see it working.
the hull has always been designed to let water pass from the bow to the stern I simply replaced one floor for another.
now here is the obligatory hold my beer

It's your boat and you're free to do as you see fit but the members on here have a LOT of experience and fiberglass boat decks are build sold for a reason. Your design may or may not work but IMHO PVC Deck Boards have no place in a Boat and Having a Drain-Thru PVC Deck in a Fiberglass Hull is NOT ideal. But again, You can do as you see fit. Innovation is a Good thing but Safety is TOP Priority on iBoats. IMHO this is not a safe design. You mentioned you lightened the boat by 300 lbs. How did you do that?
I don't see any mention of Flotation Foam being used in your design. Are you not planning on using any? Was there foam in it when you did the demo? The tear out pics indicated to me that you're not the first one to rebuild this boat. The deck construction is not original to the boat. You said your stringers were in Great Shape. How did you make that determination? Did you Drill core samples to ensure the wood core was not wet and rotten? No Mention of the transom. Did you core sample it as well to determine the condition of it's wood Core?
