That's funny, I have a history of adding front decks. Those Holidays are great boats to convert.

Not much room up front on these V5 models, I keep thinking I should have moved the consoles back a ways on my SS. I decided not to because of the trim then not having proper fit.

I actually prefer a smaller bow section, like more room in the rear but being able access the front of the boat easier for anchor, beaching etc;

Got the center cut out and the side supports for the walkthrough fabricated a lot of measuring first cardboard then plywood then aluminum, had to make sure the windshield would align properly, just dry fitted so far.

Quite the challenge having to fabricate everything needed to open her up, takes quite the skill set.

Hey Bud,

Easy to see where the experience comes in, you guys are zipping along on both builds. I really like how you are making the curved windshield fit the boat. Nice work!

Thanks guys, I used the aluminum from the bow section to fabricate the side panels of the walkthrough.

I made a pattern out of cardboard first, then cut the aluminum with a jig saw with a metal blade, not sure what you mean by the edges, I'll cover it with marine carpet.

Hey Ron not sure if it's a true V5 but has the same hull design, my son has decided he is going to keep this one and finish his 18 SS and sell it, the islander came with a 120 hp, he's already taken the 140 from the 18 SS and installed it on the Islander and going to put the 120 the 18 SS.

I've not seen any of the later V models that have the 2nd spray rail chine that goes up that far like only the V5 models do.

Yes it does and also smooth sides like the V5, unlike other 1984 models, I really like the hull design
