Have'nt decided how I will dress it up yet. But I do have enough stainless rail on hand that I could probably do from the console forward.

Got the glass work done and skim dryed just in time on the starboard side of the boat, the weather went from partly sunny to cloudy pretty quick and started misting rain about an hour after I finished. A weeks worth of work took over a month to complete, probably closer to two months, work and rain seemed to stand in the way most of the time.
It's time to go thru and see what materials I have left to work with.

Well it looks like I may get the opportunity to start on the gunwales and bowcap this weekend.

Worked on the boat for a couple of hours this afternoon and got the aft 8 feet of washboards ruff sawn and fitted to the boat, after that I counter sunk all the stainless screws that will hold the plywood in place.

Today I leveled the boat on the trailer. Took measurements and so on to be certain that the gunwale heights are within allowable tolerances from port to starboard so the boat won't look lopsided when finished. And basically cleaned the boat so it will be ready for the next round.
Anyway here's a few picture's of boat at it's current stage.

I like the trough for the controls, I found my 3 inch pipe is broken in 2 places and a trough would be a better idea.
This is probably how the water got into the foam .

If you build a trough make it as deep as you can and as wide, mine's a little narrow and shallow, but just didn't have the room to expand on it.
Also I could only allow for drainage under the console so the end of the trough back by the engine wants to retain water, have to rethink that problem.

Max,

Didnt I see a garage in an earlier post?? Why ya working outside?

I dont have a garage - but my house is on stilts, so at least my project is covered. I cant imagine how difficult it must be to depend on clear, sunny skies!

Boat's to long to fit in the garage for the most part, plus the wife claims part of the garage. It does get cold out there sometimes.

Worked on the bowcap and gunwale on the starboard side. Starboard side gunwale leaned outboard too far by about 3/4" so I took my jigsaw and ran it between the plywood bowcap and the fiberglass gunwale and was able to close the distance about 1/4". I think I'll be able to get the gunwale in a little more but will probably have to cut the fiberglass gunwale to get it corrected and set into position properly.

max!

Look's like it's time to move into the garage where there's some heat and work on some of the smaller boat projects. Old bones can't take the cold like they used to.:(

Maxum,
Can't rush perfection!
Glad to see I'm not the only one dealing with the temps. What about these "smaller projects", anything interesting?

Well last winter it was a 12 foot fiberglass tri hull boat that I put a riding lawn mower engine in and attached an outboard lower unit under the boat with the help of Lone Duck, MikDee and a few others here on the forum.

Right now my plan is to build a bench seat with cushions this winter and possibly work on fabricating a tinted windsheild for the center console that I built a few months back.

Minds always searching for something to do. I'm not the sit still type when I'm off work.
