Yeah, I think your man card is intact.

So, what did you think of Maddy losing her #1 position on Dance Moms? :p

Well my man card has never been established, and I will still admit an addiction to AI. We definitely enjoy it at our house. Posted a lot on this topic last year. Yes, we were blown away by Jessica's last place finish this week. Also agree that Hollie is getting roughed up a little. Don't really understand either.

We are Elise fans, but don't think she can win as she is a little older and not what the mainstream voters are looking for. If you think about the demographic we are thinking Colton will probably win. We were not supporters at first, but he is growing on me. Not so much for the Admiral. She's a big Jessica fan.

QC,

Being honest with you, I am not a big Jessica fan, but she does know how to sing a song, I am a BIG Elise fan, when she is on, man she can deliver a song with personality, but being real honest, I was impress with the young man the other night that performed so well, he was also in the bottom three this weekend. I am not a Colton fan at all.

Hollie is getting roughed up allot, and I really thought she would be the one to go last week, I like her and her voice, but she is mechanical and still has very little stage presence...

Agree with your Hollie assessment. And Joshua ("young man") is very good. Had to convince the Admiral to take a second look at him too, now she loves him. Colton got my attention on Billy Joel night. I thought he was very good this week as well. I guess that says I like him behind the piano. Otherwise I don't really get it. I still like Phillip too, Admiral hates him. She can't get over the vein popping out of his head . . . :D

I know not everybody watches American Idol, and I am not often at a loss for words! But my goodness, the young lady who did such a beautiful rendition of Whitey Houston a few weeks ago, is now the winner of the least amount of votes and had to sing for her life tonight, give me a break, all I can say is the voters on American Idol, don't know there *** from a hole in the ground! Man, I am glad the judges used their save this evening, cause this girl could be the biggest to ever come out of the American Idol competition...

I am still amazed!

Talk about a real Face Palm!
Maybe people just dont like dead dope addicts and it affected their vote...lol

I like following the story lines more than the singing part. Seeing people come from an 'ordinary' life and achieving 'their dream' is what I find interesting.

FWIW - I found a couple of articles that talk about the voting from last week. Looks like a combination of people over protecting their 'favorites' and complacency towards the more popular/better ones (like Jessica S).

http://www.examiner.com/celebrity-i...uld-the-voting-system-change-on-american-idol

One article talks about changing the way votes are cast, but I'm not sure that would be feasible, etc. Who knows, but with millions of votes cast, the law of averages should take over.

I think that if the judges are overly critical of certain contestants and seem to be pumping up others, then there will be more voting irregularities, as the voting public reacts, often in an opposite direction, to what the judges say.

Yeah, I was a little astounded that Jessica got the least votes. She is far and away the best singer of the bunch this season.

Having said that, I tend to not think about "who would I like to hear on the radio". I think "who could I sit and watch for a two-hour concert". From that perspective, there's not a single one of them that could get me to cough up ticket money.

There's also some major voting weirdness going on with "The Voice" this year. In the two weeks of public voting so far, it has consistently been the best singers making up the bottom three in their respective teams.

I have a theory that the vast, overwhelming majority of voters are in the 12 to 17 range. They like things that remind them of what is popular on the radio this week, even if it's performed poorly, and have not yet developed an ability to appreciate musical talent when it's outside of the genre that the popular kids are listening too on their iPods in the Jr. High School hallways.
