Ditch that prop or trade it for 2 aluminum ones or just trade for the correct SS ones if you want shiney. It's too much prop, that's for a bass boat. Also too much motor but that has been discussed.

My inlaws had an 04 Bently with that same layout it was a 24ft. It had a 115 on it and if I remember right that was the max HP on that boat if not just right under.

Ok so I had no oil resivor. Went and bought one today. 180 bucks for a plastic bucket. Couldn't find anything on how simple it is to I stall so here it is. Here's the resivor.

The black hose goes here. It's at the bottom end of the power head on the starboard side. Brass fitting. Can't miss it. It's where the crank applies pressure to the oil resivoir so it can push oil into the tank on the boat and into the tank under the shroud.

The black hose with the blue stripe goes here. Don't worry about the seemingly open end. It's just a check valve. If it has oil coming from it there's a problem. I know I'm new to everything but maybe it can help someone else. I just had a hard time finding direction. Outboard is an 00 Mercury 225 EFI.

Also eptied the fuel tank as best I could. Filled with water to clean. Emptied water and put in denatured alcohol. Evaporated then cleaned fuel inlet. Would have been easier if fuel inlet wasn't riveted in. All clean tank installed now.

Re: hassle cleaning tank. Lesson learned recently (from school of hard knocks): don't buy a used fuel tank for 40 bucks when you can get a new one for 60...... When you get all done cleaning it, you don't know if the gas gauge float is fuel soaked trash, or if it's good. In my case, it was trash. It's also impossible to tell if the gasket holding the pick up tube is so old it's falling apart, and leaks like a sieve. Next time you're thinking of refurbing a gas tank of unknown ancestry - don't do it!

Heh, I went out and bout three different used portable tanks. I now realize after buying a main tank that all I needed was one portable tank. I had to jery rig my can after all of it.....doh!

Soumds like you're coming along with it. Keep up the good work. You'll be happy you took the time to clean it.

I bought this thing as a little side project but I'm loving it. My 78 golden eagle and 67 Chevelle have both taken a back seat to our little boat. I already want another one.

Awesome job Pusher. You really put a lot into that build. The same motor came with my Pontoon. Got it running great then went to change impeller and realized driveshaft had fused to crank. What a mess. Be sure to grease up shaft when doing maintenance to keep from ending up like my 50.

Also I took it to the river today and it has pickup like a fast car. Never knew a pontoon boat could sit you cack in the seat. Only goosed it a few times to start. I know you guys won't believe me but I'm telling you if you have a boat like this that high five 5 blade prop with a 21 pitch grabs. Stupid fast. For a pontoon boat.

It's a super short video the guy with me recorded. You can't really even tell anything about it. I was in a no wake zone. I really just wanted to see if the toons leaked. They had no leaks after about 2 hours so maybe we're OK. I just wanted to know before I started putting money into lights and a new top, stereo, depthfinder and such.

Throttle cable bad. Looks like it was rubbing up against the transom. No big deal.
