Yikes water in motor

o/k here goes has anyone delt with a motor that went under watter [salt] and left there for a few month and now motor wont turn? is there any hope for this motor can i soke it in w/d 40 or something any thing i can do to save it ? It is an 2001 yamaha ox66 200 with only 240 hours it was in a flood and no one told me at the place i kept it in and now they are out of business. Any help will do i just cant put 4k together to rebuild now

Sorry to hear, but the motor's bearings and other shiny metal is rusted and not worth fooling with any more. just an opinion

Salt water for a few months? The motor became a mooring anchor after a few days! Possibly and hopefully your insurance may help you. Good Luck!

So it is a power head deal then? or do i have to junk the whole motor?

Lower unit may be still good , but the electrical, electronics, and all shiny parts are probably toast
