Hello folks, some good progress here, I just want to be sure of the year of this engine, before I order and parts etc for it. Also is this a Lark 10? Sorry I'm not good with roman numerals at all. And I found two wiring diagrams, in this service manual, one of them covers my 68 big twin, but it shows that it has a generator, now I could be wrong here so, just trying to get a better understanding that's all..

The model # shown makes it a 1968 model.----The electric shift models left the factory with the 10 mp generator.-----That generator was optional for the big twin model.

Lark was the model designation for the deluxe and electric shift models.

Plain as can be !----The belt driven generator is mounted on the port side.-----Looks much like the starter on the starboard side.---Post a picture of this lark showing the carburetor , starter and generator.

And if the lark does not have the generator you will need to find one and install , commission it on this Lark.-----The electromagnet in the gearcase draw constant power when in gear.

Yes the engine that came with that boat has a generator, and it does have a belt running from the top of the flywheel to the gen..i don't think my other 1968 big twin has a gen so because there is no belt coming from the flywheel so
