Year of Manufacture

Could some one please advise me what the age of a Mercury Thunderbolt Ignition 850 serial 7016828? I do believe it to be a Canadian motor probably around 1973- 75

unfortunately its not going to help you as the Merc serial number does not tell you the year.... but give it a read and see what you get.

1975 and earlier 850s had distributor ignition. I do not believe 850 were made after 1979. They were 800s then.

The maxrules site will give serial numbers and years. I think they have Canadian serial numbers.
