Year Model for Australian Mercury 850 blue band with thunderbolt ignition

New to this forum and (At a loss),
Thankyou for your time in reading my post
Can i please ask for help to identify my Australia Mercury blue band 850 (85hp) with Thunderbolt ignition. I have searched for a Australian serial number list but to no avail. The serial no is 8044128.
I am trying to work out the year as i require a service manual to work on the motor and awake a sleeper, I believe they may have been a few different series in 1970 to 1980 year 85hp Blue band motors and have found about 10 different service manuals.
Any help would be great

someone will come on to help you I'm sure. However if you have a distributer its probably prior to 1979 1/2 if that helps.

I have 1976 mercury 850 85 hp,wit ser no 80442##.If original,on starter motor is printed in white date the engine is made.

I have a 1977 mercury blueband thunderbolt 850 85hp Serial number 80459## The white date on the starter motor has 77 marked on it. Thanks I've finally found what year it is. Cheers Guys. Kind regards Skivvy.
