Year and make of Sears outboard

Can anybody help me with this? The only #'s I can find are the Sears id tag that reads model #60920 116824. The other two are #701216 I found up under the starter. The other # is under the starter cover #900-0409-00. People say that there should be a prefix like 571 but I can't find anything like that. It is supposed to be a 3.5hp. Any help is greatly appreciated.

try looking on the tiller handle. there should be a number plate attached closest to the motor.

582.60920 is a 1966 3.5hp motor built by clinton.<br /><br />hope this helps.
