Yamaha waterspout. Can I disconnect it?

Just had a look at mine (a 1200) and it looks like it just takes a bit of water from the jet and redirects it. Probably a better idea to block it off competely as it sort of comes out sideways. Looks easy to do and quite reversible if need be.

i just cut a 1" or so piece off of my oem hose going to the pisser spout. went to the hardware store and got a plastic nipple of the appropriate size. the nipple has screwthreads on the other end. bought cap for that end. filled with silicon and screwed cap on and clamped it on the short hose i had comein from the pump. easy to put back to oem if wanted, just like ya say.....
